8th February 2021

Back in 2019 Altogether Better was invited by the Alliance for Healthier Communities, Ontario, to work with seven community health centres across the province and volunteer health champions from their communities. Introducing collaborative practice to teams thousands of miles away was both a huge honour and enormous challenge and so we were thrilled that one of these teams recently won the Transformative Change Award 2020 in recognition of “work at the forefront of transformative change to achieve the best possible health and wellbeing for everyone living in Ontario.

In the video below the team talk about the impact of the work and project lead Angèle Bélanger describes how the team now feels…

better equipped to meet the needs of clients; having friends, someone to talk to, someone who listens to you is worth a lot more than a 20 minute visit with your healthcare provider.  That human connection is very, very important.
— Project Lead, Angèle Bélanger

Congratulations Angèle, Nadia and the rest of the team!
