Altogether Better’s National Director recognised with an MBE award

We are delighted that Alyson McGregor, Altogether Better’s National Director, was recognised in the New Year Honours with the award of an MBE for services to Collaborative Practice and Service Development in the NHS.

Whilst absolutely thrilled to receive such an honour; the recognition is not mine alone but also reflects the amazing work that our friends and colleagues do in general practice with the support of Practice Health Champions, who have stepped forward with humbling generosity to gift their time and work alongside their practice as part of a new extended primary care team.  We know that this work not only meets the needs of patients on the list but also reduces the pressure on clinical time.

Alyson’s career spans over 30 years in the NHS, since 2008 leading Altogether Better’s work across the country with general practice and health services. She is well known for her energy, innovation and engaging approach to collaborative working which could not be captured better than in this comment from Jane Dawes, Managing Partner at the Blackmore Vale Partnership:

Alyson has challenged and inspired our staff and doctors to reimagine the impact that people in our communities can have on the workload of the NHS and Primary Care. We are convinced that “Collaborative Practice” is the solution to the workload pressures in the NHS. Alyson is an inspiration, a role model and an all-round wonderful human being.
