Taking Collaborative Practice to Canada

In the spring of 2018 we were invited by the Alliance for Healthier Communities in Ontario to work share our experience and expertise with six Community Health Centres across the province - supporting them to develop our model of Collaborative Practice as part of an 18 month programme powered by the Community Development Stream of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care’s new Health and Wellbeing Grant.

This work is exciting and challenging but is also great fun and allows us to test our model in a system that works a little differently to the UK – not to mention developing our technical skills as we support and mentor teams remotely through the web!

We travelled across the province in June and October 2018 to work with citizens, CHC teams and our new colleagues in the Alliance as they begin to develop Collaborative Practice, and we’ll be supporting them through 2019 as they develop their fabulous ideas in ways that make life better both for local people and the CHC teams.
